Massage Therapy
Working with physio to move you towards health
Massage Therapy at SANO Physio, Paddington.
Massage to help recover, relax, and renew.
As you move along your journey to health, your physiotherapist may recommend massage as a complimentary therapy. Used to reduce pain, improve movement and promote healing, massage can play an important part in your treatment program. Depending on your needs, you may be recommended to see a massage therapist for a remedial massage or a deep tissue massage. This can be focused on particular areas of the body, or apply a holistic entire body approach.
And the good news is, you won’t need to visit another clinic, with our wellness partner City Cave Paddington offering the service adjacent to SANO. You will receive expert assessment and hands-on manipulation of the soft tissue of the body to produce the desired range of therapeutic benefits. Better yet, private health rebates are available onsite for all remedial massage therapy.
How can massage help?
-
Reduce Inflammation
When a muscle is injured, it can become swollen and inflamed, leading to pain and restricted movement. Massage can promote blood flow, and in doing so may help restore movement.
-
Reduce Tension
When you’re injured or tight, tension can build up from the injury itself and your concerns about the injury. Massage can help reduce both, relaxing your muscles and your mind, and can help with your recovery.
-
Aid Circulation
Massage can help blood and lymph circulate through the body. This can assist in an array of conditions as well as general wellness. Improve your recovery from physical training, speed up your post injury healing and reduce stress build up in your body.
When you book a massage online, you’ll be directed to City Cave Paddington, which is in the same location as SANO Physio.
What is Remedial Massage?
The goal of a remedial massage is to improve your physical condition through therapeutic touch.
It’s a targeted therapeutic approach aimed at addressing specific musculoskeletal issues and involves a comprehensive assessment to identify underlying problems, followed by a tailored treatment plan.
Remedial massage techniques may include deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, active release techniques and stretching to address muscle imbalances, injuries, or chronic conditions.
What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Now that’s a deep question! But luckily the answer is there in the name.
Deep tissue massage focuses on reaching the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. While it shares similarities with remedial massage, the primary goal of deep tissue massage is to alleviate chronic tension and tightness.
This technique employs firm pressure and slow strokes to target areas of discomfort, promoting relaxation and improved range of motion.
Some may find deep tissue massage painful, but our highly trained therapists know how to apply the right pressure, and will check in with you throughout your treatment to ensure you get your desired level of comfort.
